Fortunately, there are a number of options available to ensure that the small space is used adequately.  The prerequisite for the success of a new small kitchen is a detailed plan. You can arrange to have a professional designer or decorator work with you, or you can do the research and handle everything on your own.  Be prepared, however, to put in the grunt work.

A modular kitchen may be the solution to using your small space wisely. Fitted kitchens and kitchenettes will save you valuable space and time. Countertops can be  made from wood, natural stone, concrete, or a combination of these materials.

Be sure to measure the space and have your drawings customized accordingly. Consider what electrical appliances are to be installed and plan the dimensions of the devices that will be needed in the kitchen.

Likewise, our experts recommend building small kitchens vertically, versus horizontally. The space in small kitchens is scarce, but there is usually ample space between the floor and ceiling.
