How to upholster a headboard?
Upholstering your headboard is pretty simple. Most headboards are a separate piece of furniture from the mattress and the base of the bed. The headboard is usually affixed to the base of the bed using screws. Simply locate the screws and remove them using the relevant tools.
If your headboard did not have any padding before, you will need to source some foam or sponge at the hardware store to add some padding to the headboard. Be sure the measure the headboard ahead of time to know exactly how much foam or sponge you will need.
Once you have chosen and measured your fabric, place the sponge on the headboard and simply wrap the upholstery fabric over the sponge and headboard, similar to wrapping a gift. To affix the upholstery at the back of the headboard, use nails, a staple gun, super glue or a glue gun to hold the fabric in place.
Use the screws you had removed initially to affix the headboard to the base of the bed, and your new headboard is ready.
Upholstering headboards is quite easy. With a little help, your bedroom can be transformed in a day. What do you think about these headboards?
